ARCS Honolulu welcomes Dr. Samuel "Sam" Shomaker, named dean of the University of Hawai‘i at Manoaʻs John A. Burns School of Medicine effective July 1.
A JABSOM alumnus who previously served as the schoolʻs vice dean and interim dean, Dr. Shomaker returns to Hawai‘i after serving as dean of the Austin campus for the University of Texas Medical Branch and the dean and vice president at Texas A&M Health Science Center. In addition to his UH medical training, he holds a law dregree from Georgetown University School of Law and a master’s degree in management from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
