Honolulu life member Stephanie Laws and her husband Ed were featured in the University of Hawaii Foundation's 2018 annual report for establishing the Global Environmental Science Endowed Scholarship. The scholarship supports undergraduate students in the Global Enviornmental Science program in UH Manoa's School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology (SOEST). Stephanie works for the City and County of Honolulu. Ed is a professor in the Department of Environmental Sciences at Louisiana State University after spending three decades on faculty in SOEST's Department of Oceanography with an interest in phyoplankton ecology, water pollution and climate change.
