Congratulations to Honolulu Chapter partner University of Hawai‘i at Manoa, which has been selected to host the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Cooperative Institute for Marine and Atmospheric Research.
Funded with $210 million over five years, the center will conduct research and disseminate knowledge needed to predict environmental change, conserve coastal and marine resources and meet the nation's economic, social and environmental needs in the Indo-Pacific region. The new center will incorporate the Joint Institute for Marine and Atmospheric Research, a 44-year research collaborative between NOAA and UH.
