Science Cafe – October

No-host dinner and talk on a science topic of current interest organized by the Honolulu Academy of Science.

“Revisiting and Revising Hawai‘i’s Groundwater Models,” by Dr. Don Thomas, University of Hawai‘i at Manoa School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology. Dr. Thomas is director of the Center for the Study of Active Volcanoesi. One of his major reearch interests is the flow of freshwater on large volcanic islands, a subject that led to the drilling of several very deep boreholes, mainly on the Big Island. He will discuss some of his recent findings and their implications for water resource management in the islands.

Dinner is at 6 p.m. (BYOB - Tamara’s is across the street); the talk begins at 7 p.m. ARCS Foundation Honolulu Chapter is a co-sponsor for Science Cafe, which is held on the third Tuesday of the month through the academic year. More Information.
