Honolulu Science Cafe Fall Speakers

Hoolulu Science Cafe kicks off its 2019–2020 monthly dinner speaker series on September 17 with an exploraiton of dark matter.

Sponsored by the Honolulu Academy of Science and co-sponsored by ARCS Foundation Honolulu Chapter, Honolulu Science Cafe is held on the third Tuesday of the month through the academic year at HASR Bistro, 155 N. Beretania, with a no-host dinner at 6 pm and talk beginning at 7 pm. RSVP to Gareth Wynn-Williams by the prior Friday.

Scheduled talks include:

  • Sept. 17 — University of Hawai‘i physicist Sven Vahsen on Dark Matter in the Universe
  • October 15 — University of Hawai‘i volcanologist Bruce Houghton on The 2018 Eruption of Kilauea
  • November 19 — University of Hawai‘i astronomer Robert Jedicke on Mining Asteroids
  • December 17 — University of Hawai‘i cosmologist Brent Tully on The Laniakea Supercluster
